| The Annual Meeting of Peikko Group will take place in Pavia on September 4th 2008. During the first day of the Meeting, some events will be hold at the “Aula Multimediale” of Eucentre and at the Laboratory of the DMS of the University of Pavia, in the presence of the Managing Directors of the Daughter Companies of the Peikko Group.
In the first part of the event, the components of the Precast Section of Eucentre will explain the results of a numerical and experimental research, related to a contract project between Eucentre and Peikko, on the evaluation of the seismic response of column to foundation connections based on steel shoes and anchor bolts.
The last experimental tests will be performed in the second part of the event (test on a column-foundation system subjected to a given constant axial load and a cyclic quasi static horizontal displacement history at the top of the column).
Peikko Group is a Finnish Company founded in 1965 with the name of ”Teräspeikko”, in English ”Steeltroll”, which main activities are related to the evaluation and development of fastening techniques for different solutions of composite beams and connections of reinforced concrete precast structures, steel structures and machine basements. The first product, diagonal ties for sandwich panels, was the first industrial product of that category at the time.
The Group focuses its activities on the European construction market, serving its customers via a network of subsidiaries and selected partners, responsible for sales and technical support in various European countries and around the World (Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Russia, Estonia, United Arabian Emirates). The main production sites are located in Finland, Germany and Slovakia.
