Eucentre\u2019s Cyclic Testing System is a contrasting structure consisting of a base plate and two perpendicular walls. This allows bi-directional cyclic tests to be carried out on prototype buildings and structural elements at full scale. Forces and displacements during testing are applied by hydraulic actuators that are firmly attached to the adjacent walls.<\/span><\/p>\n

This type of testing is essential for evaluating the resistance, ductility and collapse mechanisms of the elements under test, as well as for validating numerical models by comparing them with the results of the tests. The valuable data collected can be used not only for scientific research, but also to define reinforcement strategies, improve regulations and design safer buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
