The event, in which the EUCENTRE Foundation actively participates as a key partner, will be held at the Allianz MiCo conference centre and will be attended by some 4000 experts worldwide. The aim is to share knowledge and innovations and discuss the latest techniques and technologies in earthquake engineering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A Historic and Significant Return<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Organised in collaboration between ANIDIS (National Association of Earthquake Engineering), IAEE (International Association for Earthquake Engineering) and AIM Group International, WCEE2024 represents not only a return to Italy after the 1973 edition in Rome, but also a symbol of tradition and progress. The choice of Milan as host city was the result of a successful bid, prevailing over other major cities such as Montreal, Lyon, New Delhi and Auckland. This success is due to the support of national and international scientific bodies, including the EUCENTRE Foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A Rich and Diversified Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">WCEE2024 will offer a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcee2024.it\/programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">programme<\/a> rich in scientific and cultural content. There will be 150 technical sessions, 13 plenary lectures and around 100 exhibitors. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcee2024.it\/plenary-talks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">keynote speakers will include several internationally renowned figures<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The opening ceremony, scheduled for 1 July at 9.30 a.m., will be attended by important institutional figures, including the <strong>Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies Sebastiano Musumeci<\/strong>, the <strong>Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabrizio Curcio<\/strong>, the <strong>President of Italian Public Works Council Massimo Sessa<\/strong>, the <strong>President of the Lombardia Region Attilio Fontana<\/strong>, the <strong>Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala<\/strong> and <strong>Senator Alessandra Gallone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>High Prestige Social Events<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There will be no lack of prestigious cultural and social events. The opening night will be held at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teatroallascala.org\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Scala Theater<\/a> on 1 July with the opera &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/urlsand.esvalabs.com\/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.teatroallascala.org%2Fen%2Fseason%2F2023-2024%2Fopera%2Fturandot.html&amp;e=7da38bd4&amp;h=51f334a8&amp;f=y&amp;p=n\">Turandot<\/a>&#8216; performance, offering participants an unforgettable experience in the heart of Italian culture. On 4 July, <a href=\"https:\/\/urlsand.esvalabs.com\/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.superstudioevents.com%2Fen%2Flocations%2Fsuperstudio-maxi%2F&amp;e=7da38bd4&amp;h=99585fdb&amp;f=y&amp;p=n&amp;l=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Superstudio Maxi<\/a> will instead host the conference party, a unique opportunity to socialise in an elegant and innovative atmosphere.
