Authored by\u00a0<strong>Professor Gian Michele Calvi<\/strong>\u2014founder of the Eucentre Foundation and one of the most influential figures in earthquake engineering\u2014the paper offers a comprehensive and multidisciplinary analysis of post-earthquake population displacement and resettlement.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\"><strong>From Historical Lessons to Strategic Vision<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400; text-align: justify;\">This scientific publication opens with a critical overview of key case studies from around the world: from San Francisco (1906) and Messina (1908) to Skopje (1963), Mexico City (1985), Sichuan (2008), T\u014dhoku (2011), and T\u00fcrkiye (1999\u20132023).<br \/>\nIn each scenario, the post-disaster management of displaced populations was mostly reactive\u2014driven by urgency rather than by pre-established, structured plans.
