On Saturday, March 21st, and Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, the city will come alive for an unmissable event: the FAI Spring Days 2026 in Pavia. This year, the 34th edition of the national event will see the extraordinary opening of the Eucentre Foundation for the first time.

The initiative, promoted by the FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano (Italian Environment Fund), offers the opportunity to visit places of art, history and science that are usually inaccessible to the public. The Pavia headquarters – a world-class research centre in the field of earthquake engineering – will open its laboratories to citizens, students and professionals for the occasion.

What to see at the Eucentre Foundation during the FAI weekend

Participating in the FAI Spring Days 2026 in Pavia at Eucentre means immersing yourself in science that saves lives. Guided tours will take participants through the technological infrastructure used for seismic risk reduction.

FAI apprentice guides, together with our researchers, will accompany visitors, telling them about our activities and our laboratories: a unique opportunity to understand the link between academic research and the daily safety of our built heritage.

Eucentre’s mission and the culture of safety

Eucentre’s decision to join the FAI underlines the importance of scientific dissemination. Understanding seismic risk is the first step towards a culture of informed prevention. During the tour, visitors will be able to see our shake tables, which replicate telluric movements and are used to test structural and non-structural elements.
