Gruppo partecipanti progetto EMERGE a Salonicco

The second EMERGE coordination meeting was held on February 5th, 2026, in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted at the premises of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). The meeting brought together representatives from all partner institutions involved in the project and provided a focused opportunity to review progress and coordinate upcoming activities.

The session served as a working forum to assess the overall status of the project, confirm pending actions and next steps, and discuss potential risks or issues that could affect smooth implementation. These discussions were conducted with a strong emphasis on coordination, risk awareness, and alignment across Work Packages.

During the meeting, participants also visited the laboratory facilities of the AUTH Department of Civil Engineering, supporting technical knowledge exchange and strengthening collaboration among academic and research partners.

Alongside coordination activities, the EMERGE consortium continues to disseminate its latest project results. Within WP2 – Comprehensive Multi-Risk Assessment Platform for Needs Prioritisation and Planning, Deliverable D2.3 – EMERGE WBP architecture has been published.

The document describes the architecture of the EMERGE platform, which will be the main product of the project and whose development is the responsibility of EUCENTRE. The purpose of the web-based platform is to support rapid and informed decision-making processes in the post-event phase by integrating algorithms for the assessment of essential needs during the management of seismic emergencies.

The coordination meeting in Thessaloniki further highlighted the importance of transnational cooperation and ongoing exchange among research institutions, universities, and operational stakeholders in achieving EMERGE’s objectives.
