Researcher at the European Centre for Training and Research in Earthquake Engineering (Eucentre) in Pavia. His work involves various research projects concerning prefabricated structures, particularly aspects related to their design in seismic areas. He also specialises in the analysis of the seismic vulnerability of infrastructure and the modelling and design of experimental tests on large structures and subsystems.
He is also involved in validating non-linear finite element structural analysis software and analysing, designing and verifying seismic retrofitting measures for existing buildings.
He lectures at Eucentre, teaching courses on ordinary and prefabricated reinforced concrete structures, existing structures, and international regulatory codes.
Following the earthquakes in L’Aquila (2009), Emilia Romagna (2012) and central Italy (2016–17), he assessed building safety and was a member of the inter-institutional working group responsible for preparing a manual and post-earthquake damage and usability assessment form for prefabricated and long-span structures (GL-AeDES).
Eucentre is a non-profit private law foundation whose mission is to conduct research and provide training and services in earthquake and safety engineering
Eucentre promotes science, research and innovation for the benefit of the community, offering targeted methodologies and concrete solutions for prevention, safety and resilience. It collaborates with institutions and companies to disseminate competencies for the common good.
