Filippo Dacarro, M.Eng., P.Eng., is the Director of the experimental facilities at Eucentre. After obtaining his Laurea degree in civil engineering (1999) from the University of Pavia (Italy), he started his collaboration with the Department of Structural Mechanics.
His duties involved laboratory and on site testing as well as numerical modelling of monumental structures.
In 2002, he started the study and implementation of a structural monitoring system for the S. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, most important example in a wide variety of systems installed on monuments and historical buildings.
Since 2003, Eng. Dacarro is collaborating actively and continuously at the design and development of Eucentre experimental facilities (shaking tables, reaction structure, bearing and damper testers, hydraulic pumping and actuation system, mobile laboratory).
His applied research include direct use of the testing equipment of Eucentre, material characterization, dynamic identification of structures and non-structural elements, development of temporary and permanent monitoring systems, data analysis and results interpretation.

Eucentre is a non-profit private law foundation whose mission is to conduct research and provide training and services in earthquake and safety engineering
Eucentre promotes science, research and innovation for the benefit of the community, offering targeted methodologies and concrete solutions for prevention, safety and resilience. It collaborates with institutions and companies to disseminate competencies for the common good.
