Riccardo Melzi has worked as a technical coordinator and laboratory technician at the Eucentre Foundation in Pavia since 2007.
As technical coordinator, his main duties involve coordinating the set-up of experimental tests and managing the mobile laboratory.
His responsibilities also include setting up tests on vibrating tables, seismic isolators and cyclic tests on retaining walls; carrying out destructive and non-destructive tests; applying structural reinforcement methods; installing and calibrating structural and infrastructural monitoring systems and the creation, modification and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
He holds numerous certifications and technical qualifications that guarantee his expertise in laboratory and field operations.
In particular:
- Occupational Safety: General and specific training for high-risk workers, training for supervisors, a course on the safe use of industrial gases;
- Overhead Crane Licence: Qualification as an overhead crane operator;
- First Aid and Firefighting: Training as a first-aid and medium-risk fire-fighting operator;
- Forklift licence: Qualification to operate self-propelled industrial forklifts (forklift trucks) and forklift trucks with rotating telescopic arms;
- Working at Height Qualification: Operating ladders and scaffolding;
- Aerial Platforms: Training in the use of aerial platforms with and without stabilisers;
- Transport: Road Transport of Dangerous Goods Course;
- Welding: Specialisation and Qualification Course for Welders, in accordance with UNI EN 9606-1:2017 Standards.
He is also familiar with Microsoft Office and Google packages.
