ROSE School Pavia has launched its new website, which has been completely revamped in design and content. The modernised site underscores the school’s international identity and highlights the revival of the second-level Master’s programme in Earthquake Engineering. This intensive one-year postgraduate course, delivered entirely in English, is jointly offered by the University of Pavia and IUSS Pavia in collaboration with the Eucentre Foundation and the GEM Foundation.

The programme trains engineers in the seismic design of new structures, the retrofitting of existing buildings, and the assessment of seismic hazard and risk. It is structured as a 12-month, 60-ECTS course consisting of two semesters of advanced classes, followed by a one-month internship at Eucentre, GEM Foundation, as well as other organisations currently being defined. Admission is limited to 30 participants, selected through a competitive evaluation process.

For the 2025/26 cohort, five scholarships are currently available: four tuition waivers provided by the Eucentre Foundation and one full scholarship (covering tuition and accommodation) funded by the GEM Foundation for candidates from low- and middle-income countries. Potential additional scholarships are currently being negotiated. Applications are open until October 15th 2025, with the programme scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Established in 2001 in Pavia, the ROSE School has trained hundreds of earthquake engineering specialists, many of whom have gone on to follow successful careers in academia, research institutions, international organisations, and leading engineering firms worldwide. With the new website and the relaunch of this international Master’s programme, the ROSE School reaffirms its mission and its central role in educating experts in seismic risk reduction.
