Among the activities aimed at mitigating seismic risk, a key area is reducing the vulnerability of structures and infrastructure.
These activities focus on reducing the seismic vulnerability of ordinary and precast reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, timber and infrastructure structures. This is achieved through the development of tools and knowledge aimed at defining guidelines and operational procedures, which may have a regulatory impact.
The available expertise enables a broad spectrum to be covered, with an integrated numerical and experimental approach aimed at developing guidelines and directions with potential regulatory impact, or defining priority lines of intervention on real estate assets and infrastructures.
The various activities carried out include:
- Seismic vulnerability assessment of masonry buildings, including numerical analysis in support of laboratory activities and the development of reinforcement techniques.
- Support for the control of anti-seismic practices.
- Support for the qualitative vulnerability assessment of buildings with an associated database (companies, universities, etc.).
- Support for the seismic vulnerability assessment and structural reinforcement of reinforced and precast concrete buildings.
