On May 23rd and 24th, 2024, the esteemed Cardinal Agostino Riboldi College in Pavia was the proud host of the eighth edition of the Nigel Priestley International Seminar (also known as the twenty-second edition of the ROSE Seminar). This unique event, dedicated to earthquake engineering and seismic risk reduction, was a collaborative effort between the School of Advanced Studies, IUSS Pavia and Fondazione Eucentre. It drew a diverse audience of professionals, researchers, and students from around the world, all eager to contribute to the field of study.
ROSE Programmes: Excellence in Training and Research
The IUSS Pavia, through the ROSE Centre, has been offering Master’s and PhD programmes aimed at seismic risk mitigation for quite some time, integrating disciplines such as structural and geotechnical engineering, applied mathematics and engineering seismology. These programmes are renowned for their intensity and quality, ensuring high-level training through close collaboration with the University of Pavia and the EUCENTRE Foundation.
Participation in the Event
In addition to ROSE lecturers and students, some 50 external participants were also admitted.
