Eucentre present at the first day of the General Assembly of Civil Protection 2025

Stati Generali Protezione Civile 04 Aprile 2025

On April 4th, 2025, the third edition of the General States of Civil Protection began in Rome, promoted by the Department of Civil Protection and hosted at the headquarters of Confindustria. The initiative, which continued until April 6th, represents an important opportunity for discussion between institutions, the scientific community and operators in the sector, with the aim of outlining new strategies for strengthening the National Civil Protection Service.

The General Manager of Eucentre, Fabio Germagnoli, also took part in the opening day, confirming the Foundation’s commitment to the prevention and management of natural risks, and in particular to the mitigation of seismic risk through scientific research, experimentation and training.

The event was attended by numerous government representatives: Ministers Anna Maria Bernini (University and Research), Matteo Piantedosi (Interior), Carlo Nordio (Justice), Orazio Schillaci (Health), Nello Musumeci (Civil Protection and Maritime Policy), Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati (Institutional Reforms) and Gilberto Pichetto Fratin (Environment and Energy Security). Ministers Paolo Zangrillo (Public Administration) and Giuseppe Valditara (Education and Merit) also sent video messages. To underline the importance of the initiative, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, sent an institutional greeting via video.

During the day, central themes for the national civil protection system were addressed, including the need for an integrated approach to emergency management, the strengthening of prevention activities and the adoption of advanced technological solutions for the protection of the territory and communities.

Eucentre, as a centre of excellence for applied research in the field of earthquake engineering, fully recognises the objectives outlined during the work and will continue to actively contribute, through its work, to the development of an increasingly resilient and effective civil protection system.
