Eng. Francesca Bozzoni is Senior Researcher at Eucentre (Pavia, Italy), where she has been working since 2009. Graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan, she has gained a strong experience in the field of earthquake engineering and, in particular, of geotechnical earthquake engineering thanks to the active involvement in numerous national and international projects. She is author/co-author of more than 90 scientific publications. She is currently coordinator for Eucentre of the European project Re-MXP on improving the resilience of the Milan Malpensa airport against natural hazards. She recently coordinated for Eucentre the LiquefACT project, the most relevant project funded in Europe on the assessment and mitigation of risk associated with seismic soil liquefaction. Since 2016, she has been a regular member of the international association Geotechnical Extreme Events Reconnaissance (GEER) and, since 2020, of the working group WG225 to update the international seismic design guidelines for port structures within the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC). In 2021, she obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Geotechnics and, since 2023, she has been Contract Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia.
